When I was little, I had this brilliant idea — flying cars. I mean, why not? 🤷♀️ Imagine cruising above traffic like, bye peasants (hehe). The sky is wide, empty, and drama-free. So yeah, I stored that idea in some dusty corner of my brain with zero plans of doing anything about it. Why? Simple:
I believed no one else could possibly think of something that ridiculous-yet-genius.
I told myself, God gave me this idea, and ME alone.
So, I left it there — untouched, unbothered, not going anywhere.
Well... sighs in disbelief
So, fast-forward to now: I was scrolling through Instagram one random day and saw my idea staring back at me — but not as an idea.
It was real. Built. Functioning. Flying.
And not by me... but by the Chinese. 😭😭
You should’ve seen my face.
I was like:
“Whaaaattt?! I thought of that ooo.” 😣😣
Who knows? If I’d acted on that idea, maybe I’d be balling in billions right now.
Cries in silent, dramatic pain
And listen, I know I’m not alone in this. Right? (Please say right 😭)
But if by some mysterious glitch in the Matrix, I am, then let me just say this:
Don't let it happen to you too.
Often times, we deceive ourselves with the illusion of “my idea.” Nah, boo. It’s everyone’s idea too.
God can plant something powerful in your heart — not just for you, but to bless others through you. If you don’t act on it, He’ll pass it on to someone ready. That “brilliant idea” will remain yours... but someone else will be the one cashing the cheque.
In my case, I was a kid. So... I think I’m safe 🫠
But now? Nah. No excuses.
So, stop calling your idea cringey. Stop underestimating it.
If it was planted in your heart, there’s a reason.
And if it flops? Big deal. You didn’t fail. You just levelled up in experience.
If Baba KFC had thought selling chicken door-to-door at 60+ was “cringe,” we wouldn't be licking our fingers today.
It’s really not too late to start.
Ciao, and thanks for reading. 👋
This fed me so much food for thought!
You write really well, and I appreciated the use of analogies🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing, and thanks for enlightening😊
Yeah, this is relatable.
Ideas we feel are peculiar to us, aren't.
Nice write-up, Blossom.
